Partnering to help homeless pets (and their families)
We’re excited to announce that for the second year in a row, we’re partnering with ThinkHatch and partners Park9: UrbanDog Playcare & Resorts and Simply Laundry to help the pets in our communities who often struggle in the winter months.
We all know our pets are family, and for people who are homeless their pets may be the only family they have. For homeless people on the streets of Toronto, pets can provide comfort, motivation – and their dogs often provide the security and safety that can be so difficult to find on the streets.
But pets living on the streets often experience scarcity, which is why we’re collecting donations of new and used blankets, pet supplies, and pet food.
This holiday season, let’s help them out with donations of new or used blankets, pet food and other pet needs. Drop off your donation between Nov 12 – Dec 16 and we will ensure your donations will be delivered to Fred Victor Toronto at their new Lakeshore Boulevard West location before Christmas.
How you can help
1. Drop off items to our offices in Liberty Village during regular business hours.
(If you purchase dog or cat food from us to donate, we’ll give you 15% off your order.)
2. Drop off items to Park9 (Distillery or Pearson location)
Visit their website for location and drop off hours.
3. Arrange a pickup from Simply Laundry
ONLY blankets, dog boots or dog jackets will be picked up.
To arrange your pickup visit https://www.simply-laundry.com/ and “add a donation” to your cart at check out. Please note these items will be picked up from your location and delivered to the respite centre on your behalf.
Please note that items received at either Liberty Village Animal Hospital or Park9 and in need of laundering will be picked up and laundered by Simply Laundry and then delivered to the Respite Centre on your behalf.
